Benny Grauer
(Deep Circus / Berlin, Germany)

Benny Grauer was born in Tübingen, Germany in 1980. In the early 1990s, he made his first contact with electronic music. Tracks like Dave Clarks „Red 2“ or  „Sacred Cycles“ by Peter Lazomby sparked his interest in the young music style called Techno.

After many long club nights and his first steps as a promoter, Benny Grauer discovered his love for vinyl and the interaction of turntables and mixing desk.

In the year 2001, he attracted interest for himself as part of the DJ-collective and weekly event “das_elektronische_sofa”(2001-2004). It was a very popular meeting place for DJs, promoters and friends of the electronic music scene in Southern Germany.

In 2002, he started his residency at the legendary club “Depot” (R.I.P.!) in Tübingen / Germany with his monthly event „Klangdesign“(2002-2006). In contrast to “das_elektronische_sofa”, the sound of these events was way harder and more progressive.

In the year 2003, he presented a series of parties called „The House That Tech Built“(2003-2005) and completed the selection of his musical styles, which extends from Deephouse and Techhouse to Detroit-sounds and modern Techno.

One year later he took over the management of the club “Blauer Turm” in Tübingen, Germany. This was the platform for many Techno- and House-Parties where he presented guests like DJ Karotte, André Galluzzi and Tobi Neumann, and set a new benchmark in the region.

In the same year he launched with David Gomez the DJ-project „Los Pornos“. The last years this project has developed as one of the most popular acts in South Germany.

Besides further Residencys in Stuttgart’s No 1-clubs for electronic music, “Ciné Colibri” (R.I.P.!), Club Rocker 33 and Club Lehmann, he had national and international performances as headliner himself or as a support for top-acts like Loco Dice, Carl Craig, Trentemoeller, Extrawelt, Tiefschwarz, Magda, Andrew Weatherall  and many others.

In 2008, Benny Grauer moved to Berlin, where he has been focusing on his own studio productions and the buildup of his Label “Deep Circus”, which he launched in autumn 2010.

His first releases “nine days wonder” and “Hannibal” on Deep Circus could be placed in the top 10s and charts of many DJs and record stores and gave him support by top acts like Dubfire, Luciano and Karotte. Recent remixes for Martin Eyerer, Aemkay and Flatner & Lopazz appeared on the Labels BluFin, Fassade and Steve Bugs Label Poker Flat.
