// Stefano Tropeano
Often you have to try out several ways, until you choose the right one. Stefano Tropeano can speak from his own experience, because in his earlier days he was fond of Hardcore, Electro and Trance.
Then over the years he discovered the power of the deep groovy house music and jumped full of passion in a new musical adventure – luckily you have to say nowadays…
That is to say Stefano Tropeano earned constantly more and more respect in the clubbing scene. The journey began innocently with a success in a DJ contest at the age of 13 and got more and more intense during the days with Gigs at OXA, Zurich’s “longest running club”, Rohstofflager, Club Q, Kaufleuten, Supermarket and also the two legendary Berlin locations Week End and Tresor.
Despite all this successes Stefano Tropeano kept his daytime job as a mailman, even if he mentions, that he prefers delivering fresh house tracks to the party crowd than letters to the people. So it’s obvious, that turntable heroes such as Sven Väth, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Dubfire or Ricardo Villalobos are his most fundamental sources of inspiration.
Besides the influence of these big names, the get-together with the established producer Namito from Germany was a very important moment in Stefano’s career. This guy releases solo as well as in collaboration with the master Martin Eyerer one smasher after another. Stefano and Namito got close friends within a short time and so they decided to begin a studio cooperation with each other. Since then some really stunning tracks appeared at daylight.
For instance Stefano Tropeano’s tracks got released on well-known labels such as Yellow Tail, Blu Fin, Green Horn and Mantide Records. The track “Intensive Care“ reached the top 20 of the Beatport techno charts, “Zenon” was played regularly by Richie Hawtin amongst others and also “Distrinova” was picked up by several radio shows, for example Mark Knight’s show ToolroomKnights and Ministry of Sound Saturday Sessions. And in the end, the artists that remixed Stefano’s tracks are famous guys like Daniele Papini, Andreas Henneberg, Socio Robots or Biovoices.
House music is the heart of Stefano Tropeano`s life and much more than only a funny pastime to him. With weekly discovery trips trough Zurich’s record stores, spending thousands of hours on the internet searching for good tunes or regular stays in the party meccas Ibiza and Berlin, Stefano could accumulate an immense music knowledge. He likes using this for the production of promo CDs and compilations. On the one hand for his friends, but on the other also for the masses: With his mix CD ElektroPunks he even entered the top 10 samplers of the official Swiss charts.
Whether mix CD or live set – for example at his own party series at OXA – as soon as Stefano stands behind the tables, the location rocks. You can be excited about the further development of this promising talent. Watch him out!
